Custom Handpainted Nose Art

January 26, 2018 By RCK Leave a Comment

Our US Wings Custom Shop is once again offering handpainted “nose art” leather jackets! Known as “nose art” because these types of images were commonly painted on the nose of WWII aircraft. We’ll be offering eight stock Handpainted Nose Art Jackets, which are authentic handpainted recreations of designs originally painted by the renowned late “nose art” painter John Schumick. We’ll also offer Custom Handpainted Nose Art Jackets based on a customer’s design on both leather “bomber” jackets and motorcycle jackets, as well as custom handpainted logos for businesses. We can also create handpainted leather patches as well.

US Wings has over 30 years of “nose art” experience, so you know your custom jacket will be in good hands. You may purchase a leather bomber or motorcycle jacket from us for custom painting, or you can send us your own leather jacket for painting; turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. For more information, please call or email us. Be sure to also check out our Nose Art Collection to see our full line of silkscreened nose art reproduction t-shirts and garment bags.

Sgt. Hack’s Veteran’s Day Interview on Fox News

November 13, 2017 By RCK Leave a Comment

Check out Sgt. Hack’s Veteran’s Day Interview on Fox News.

He was interviewed by Fox News Channel weekend anchor Arthel Neville and the interview was broadcast live at 5:50 PM ET. Sgt. Hack talked about how US Wings got its start and touched on various aspects of running the business. Check out the video here.

SFC Hack volunteered for Vietnam in 1968, joining the 1st Infantry Division and was serving as a sergeant with the Big Red One in Lai Khe, Vietnam, in 1968, when he was awarded the Purple Heart for combat injuries that ultimately ended his military career. He actually suffered injuries on two occasions, taking shrapnel to the leg, arm, face, back and side. He spent a full year in a U.S. Army hospital in Fort Knox and was three years on medical hold.

The Department of the Army asked SFC Hack to be a recruiter, and he was assigned the Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and Tallmadge, Ohio area.

He gained nationwide recognition as a top Army recruiter. His distinctive recruiting tools, which included a “Sgt. Hack Wants You” T-shirt, a custom Army jeep, and a custom-painted Corvette, helped make SFC Hack the United States’ No. 1 US Army recruiter (out of 12,000 recruiters) from 1969 to 1973. The jeep he used is on display at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, home of the 101st Airborne Division. The only other jeep ever to be enshrined in a U.S. military museum belonged to GEN George S. Patton, whose jeep is enshrined at Fort Knox.
