Sgt. Hack and the P Coat

September 10, 2020 By Myke Redpath Leave a Comment

You might ask what does Sgt. Hack and the P Coat have in common?  Many of you know of SFC David D. Hack US Army (R).  But did you know that he served in the United States Coast Guard for four years.  He served  in the Pacific on Wake Island, in the Atlantic at Cape May and on the Mississipi River at St Louis and the Ohio River at Owensboro Kentucky. Even though he is Army #1 he is still a Coastie down deep inside.

The origins of the peacoat can be traced back hundreds of years, but the basic design of this popular coat has remained unchanged for generations.   It’s long enough to cover the backside and short enough for sailors to easily move about.   It has all the warmth, functionality, and style anyone could ask for in a piece of outerwear.

The classic double-breasted style of the peacoat is both timeless and versatile, easily adapting from casual to semi-dressy wear.  Furthemore it will last for decades if properly taken care of.   Couple it with our Silk Aviator Scarf for extra warmth and an added bit of panache!
Search No More: Many retailers offer inferior knock-offs of this classic US Navy garment, but we offer a great selection of the most authentic USA-made peacoats in men’s (regulars & longs), women’s, and kid’s sizes for your entire family.
These peacoats are the closest you can get to the US Navy-issued version, so check ’em out in our Peacoat Collection .
If you see him in the winter, chances are you will see Sgt. Hack and the P Coat.
