A Vietnam War 50th Anniversary rally was held at the headquarters of US Wings in Hudson Ohio, May 20th to the 22nd. Ths even commemorated the beginning of the Vietnam war in 1961. VETERANS RADIO of Ann Arbor Michigan broadcast their weekly radio show and had a group discussion led by Vietnam veterans Gary Lilly USN and included Lt. General Robert Wagner, USA (Ret), Mr. Bill Willoughby, Civilian Aid to the Secretary of the Army and Silver Star recipient, Dale Thorneberry, Helicopter Pilot in Vietnam, and SFC David Hack, USA (Ret). This prestigious panel spoke about their involvement in Vietnam and the effect it had on them. General Wagner spoke of his arrival in the middle of the jungle as a new Lieutenant aboard a Huey, and was thankful for the training he had received.
US Wings participated in the National Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War by holding a “Welcome Home” rally.The Rally featured the Fastrax Skydiving Team former military skydivers who jump each year in New York on the anniversary of 9/11. Static military displays, vendors, music, free food & beverages were in abundance.
